Cabinets of the William and Mary period (c1690) inspired this example. The exterior surface is profusely inlaid with complex floral marquetry, subtle sand shading gives depth to the design. The interior continues the theme with floral bandings and is composed of 17 drawers made from Pearwood around the Rosewood pigeon holes. The pierced hinges are chased and the lock is fully working. Even the shaped X stretcher is inlaid. Dimensions 136mm high+ 60mm wide+ 40mm deep |
